Eco Arts
EcoArts is a pilot project of the Lane Arts Council (Lane Arts). Lane Arts is designing and implementing, as a model, a sequential learning experience through the arts that will deepen students’ understanding and knowledge of the natural environment. This will occur through active involvement in expressive arts practices during six in-school multi-arts residencies led by practicing, professional artists. Activities will be designed to integrate creative arts and ecology through narrative, images, and documentation. Possibilities include temporal works created outdoors with nature. The aim is to increase awareness of the human dynamics that contribute to change in the natural environment through observation and creative expression. Certified teachers are always present and involved and parent-volunteers will assist as needed.
- Camas’s staff provides technical assistance (in the capacity of consulting ecologist) to the resident artist, faculty, and to staff of Lane Arts.
